In 1978, Bjarne Øen started the company B. Øens Kjøleservice in Hellesylt in Møre og Romsdal. 2 years later he moved the company to Hornindal in Sogn og Fjordane, where he worked alone in the company for 3 years before eventually having to hire more people in line with the increased workload. In the autumn of 1999, the company moved into new premises and at the same time was converted from being a private company to a limited company where the new name became Øen Kuldeteknikk as.
Øen Kuldeteknikk currently has a workshop, warehouse and offices at Yttrehorn in Hornindal in Møre og Romsdal. As of today, we have 14 employees, many with long working hours. We are an approved apprenticeship company and have extensive expertise in the field of refrigeration technology. We operate within the country's borders and have had jobs from Stavanger in the south, Tromsø in the north, Oslo in the east and Jan Mayen in the west.
The development in the company has been great from the very start in the late 70s, until today. While the production of food stall coolers helped to build up the company at the start, today it is industrial, retail and heat pump systems that are the biggest investment areas.
We have a strong focus on delivering energy-efficient facilities and using environmentally friendly refrigerant types such as NH3, CO2, propane and R1234ze.
